WASHINGTON - George Washington swimming and diving head coach James Winchester and junior Alexander Auster were in Indianapolis last weekend to attend the NCAA Inclusion Forum.
Winchester and Auster were among more than 470 intercollegiate athletics leaders and student-athletes to take part in the seventh annual event hosted by the NCAA Office of Inclusion. The GW pair participated in a panel called "Crossing Borders," which focused on improving the international student-athlete experience.
Winchester is a native of England who swam at Louisville and has worked with numerous international student-athletes as an assistant and head coach, including NCAA qualifiers Gustav Hokfelt (Stockholm, Sweden) and Andrea Bolognesi (Cuveglio, Italy) at GW.
Auster was born in Bonn, Germany and came to Foggy Bottom after attending high school in Ottawa, Canada. Over the past three seasons, he's developed into a First Team All-Atlantic 10 performer and helped the Colonials win their first two conference titles in program history.
Watch Auster and Winchester discuss their experience at the NCAA Inclusion Form.
