No. 19 Gymnastics Finishes Third at EAGL Championship

TOWSON, Md. -- The No. 19 George Washington gymnastics team posted a 195.875 to finish third at the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championship on Saturday afternoon at SECU Arena.
NC State won the conference title with a score of 196.625 while New Hampshire finished in second-place with 196.300. GW finished ahead of Towson (195.675), Pittsburgh (195.475) and North Carolina (194.775).
GW earned its 195.875 behind team scores of 49.100 on vault, 48.800 on uneven bars, 48.950 on balance beam, and 49.025 on floor exercise.
Cami Drouin-Allaire scored 9.90 to finish the day as the co-champion on vault, the third conference championship title she has won in her career. The Shoreham, New York, native finished in fourth place in the all-around with 39.200, the 11th time this season she has scored 39.00 or better. In addition to her vault title, she scored 9.750 on uneven bars, 9.825 on balance beam (T-9th), and 9.725 on floor exercise.
ROTATION ONE
The Colonials started their day off on vault, posting a team score of 49.100. With her co-vault title, Drouin-Allaire led the squad with a 9.900, while sophomore Cydney Crasa finished with a career-high 9.825. Senior Liz Pfeiler and co-captain Jillian Winstanley earned identical 9.800s and senior Sara Mermelstein registered a 9.775 to round out the GW score.
ROTATION TWO
GW then moved to bars, where they finished with a 48.800. Winstanley led the way with a 9.825, while Pfeiler, Drouin-Allaire, and freshman Hannah Cohen all posted matching 9.750s. Freshman Anna Warhol anchored on bars and finished with a 9.725.
ROTATION THREE
The Buff and Blue's third rotation came on beam, where they earned a team score of 48.950. Pfeiler posted a team-best 9.850 to finished the day tied for fourth. Drouin-Allaire followed closely behind with a 9.825 while Mermelstein and Cohen recorded 9.800s. Senior Brooke Bray closed out the GW score with a 9.675.
ROTATION FOUR
The Colonials ended their day on floor, finishing with a 49.025. Crasa wrapped up her career-high day with another personal-best on floor, posting a 9.875, a score that placed her tied for eighth. Freshman Catherine Karpova also had a career-high performance on floor, earning a 9.825. Winstanley also recorded a 9.825, Mermelstein scored a 9.750, and Drouin-Allaire closed out the day with a 9.725.
