No. 18 Gymnastics Wraps Regular Season

KENT, O.H. â€" In its final meet of the regular season, the No. 18 George Washington gymnastics team had season-high matching performances on balance beam and floor exercise, but finished second at Kent State with 195.650.
On their senior night, the host Golden Flashes tallied 196.325 to top the field, while Temple finished third with 195.075.
GW (21-6, 5-0 EAGL) earned its 195.650 behind team scores of 48.975 on vault, 48.075 on uneven bars, and season-high matching scores of 49.275 on balance beam and 49.352 on floor exercise.
In the all-around, senior co-captain Jillian Winstanley eclipsed the 39.000 threshold for the 10th time this season with a 39.375. The Arlington, Massachusetts, native also finished the day at the top of the podium with a 9.900 on vault.
ROTATION ONE
The Colonials started their night off on bars, where the team tallied a score of 48.075. Winstanley led the way with 9.800, while fellow-senior Liz Pfeiler followed closely behind with a 9.750. Julia McLaughlin finished with a 9.725 and Hannah Cohen recorded a 9.600 to add to the GW score.
ROTATION TWO
The Buff and Blue then moved to beam, where three Colonials topped their career-highs en route to a season-high matching 49.275. Pfeiler matched her personal-best of 9.925 to finish second on the podium, Cami Drouin-Allaire took third-place with a career-high 9.900, and Cohen scored a 9.850 to surpass her career-high as well. Winstanley earned a 9.825 and Sara Mermelstein registered a 9.750 to round out the GW total.
ROTATION THREE
The Colonials next turned their attention to floor, where they finished with a season-high matching 49.325. The senior-duo of Drouin-Allaire and Madeline Seibold earned second-place honors with identical 9.925s. For Drouin-Allaire, the 9.925 marks the fifth time this season she's scored above a 9.900, while the 9.925 marks a career-high for Seibold, the second-straight meet she has topped her personal best. Winstanley also had a solid performance for GW, registering a 9.850, Mermelstein scored a 9.825, and Catherine Karpova finished with a 9.800 in her floor lineup debut.
ROTATION FOUR
GW closed out its evening on vault, totaling 48.975. Winstanley finished the day at the top of the podium with a 9.900, while Drouin-Allaire took second with a 9.825. Pfeiler finished with a 9.800, Mermelstein tallied a 9.750, and McLaughlin posted a 9.700 to close out the day of competition.
LOOK AHEAD: With the regular season now behind them, the Colonials will turn their attention to EAGL Championships next Saturday, March 24 in Towson, Maryland. GW currently sits first in the conference with a RQS of 196.460 and heads to EAGL Championships as the only undefeated squad (5-0) in league action.
