2019 Schedule
WASHINGTON – The George Washington gymnastics team will face nine postseason teams from last year, including the 2018 NCAA Gymnastics National Championship runner-up Oklahoma, as part of its 2019 competition schedule, head coach Margie Foster-Cunningham has announced.
GW, coming off its fourth consecutive NCAA Regional performance, opens the 2019 campaign by hosting East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) foe UNC, Cornell and Ball State for the 12th Annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational on Jan. 14 at 1 p.m.
The Colonials will then kickoff a four meet road swing at Kent State (Jan. 20, 1 p.m.), before hitting the road to face Pittsburgh (Jan. 26, 2 p.m.). A dual meet with West Virginia and Kent State follows (Jan. 27, 2 p.m.) before the road trip closes at EAGL rival UNH (Feb. 3, 1p.m.).
GW will then return home to the Smith Center for the annual "Pink Meet" on February 8 at 7 p.m. in a quad-meet against UNH, Yale, and William & Mary.
The Colonials will then head to the Perfect 10 Challenge in Oklahoma City on Feb. 15. The meet is contested on podium, an elevated competition floor as seen at the NCAA Gymnastics National Championship, and will feature the Colonials clashing with NCAA Gymnastics National Championship runner-up Oklahoma, along with NCAA Regional qualifiers Washington and Arizona State, which finished last season ranked No. 11 and No. 23 respectively.
GW will then return home for back-to-back weekends, starting with its annual Brownie & Girl Scout Meet (Feb. 22, 7 p.m.) against Towson, Eastern Michigan, and Southern Connecticut. The Colonials wrap up their home slate with Senior Day on March 1 at 7 p.m. The Buff and Blue will welcome BYU and Maryland to the Smith Center.
The Colonials commence a string of three straight road meets to conclude their regular season on March 4, starting with a visit Maryland. GW will then travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to face NC State, Arizona, and Texas Woman's University on March 9 at 4 p.m., before wrapping up the regular season on March 17 at 2 p.m. in quad meet action against Towson, Maryland, Pittsburgh, and UNH.
The 2019 EAGL Championships will be held on March 23 at UNH's Lundholm Gymnasium.
