WASHINGTON - GW softball brought springtime thoughts to a chilly Mount Vernon Campus on Tuesday afternoon, taking the field for their first official practice of the season.
The Colonials have reason for optimism returning seven field starters and their top three pitchers off a squad that earned a program-record 28 wins in 2017.
On Tuesday, they began the countdown to Head Coach James DeFeo's second season, which begins Feb. 16 against Florida A&M at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic in Orlando, Florida. Their home opener comes Feb. 28 when crosstown foe Howard visits for a midweek doubleheader. (Full schedule)
