Eight Colonials will swim at the second-year event held at Lone Star Lake in Lawrence, Kan. The 5,000-meter race consists of two loops around a marked course.
GW's Moritz Fath, Jarrod Hendricks, Shawn Lemarie and Emils Pone are among 42 entrants in the men's race. Gemma Atherley, Lucy Castro, Andrea Ho and Emily Zhang will represent the Buff and Blue among the 54 competitors on the women's side.
GW's first traditional competition of 2017-2018 comes Oct. 6 and 7 at the FIU Fall Classic in Miami.
