LEADING OFF: The No. 18 George Washington gymnastics team will conclude its regular season on Sunday by hosting Senior Day at the Charles E. Smith Center against Stanford, Yale and NC State. Showtime on Sunday is 1:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: GW ran its overall 2017 record to 22-4 with a quad-meet win last weekend against West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Eastern Michigan in Morgantown, West Virginia.
The trio of Jillian Winstanley, Cami Drouin-Allaire and Alex DeMoura combined to sweep the all-around podium for the second consecutive meet.
SUPER SENIORS: GW will celebrate its senior class of DeMoura, Chelsea Raineri, Kaitlin Cowles and Kaila Solomon on Sunday. The quartet has been instrumental in the GW gymnastics program's return to the NCAA Regionals in each of the past two seasons, the 2015 EAGL Championship and a likely third consecutive trip to regionals this spring.
REALISTICALLY LOCKED: Following last weekend's performance the Colonials have been upgraded from 'Likely Locked" to "Realistically Locked" in RoadToNationals.com's NCAA Regionals projections.
"Realistically Locked" teams are defined as: realistically impossible to miss regionals (even if all other teams got a full point higher than their high score on all remaining meets).
TEAM RANKS: GW leads the EAGL in all four events plus overall team score while boasting national rankings of 16th overall (196.215 RQS), 18th on vault (49.085 RQS), 20th on bars (49.060 RQS), 15th on beam (49.180 RQS) and 23rd on floor (49.105 RQS).
LOOK AHEAD: GW will compete at the EAGL Championships on Saturday, March 18 at NC State.
The exact location of the meet will be announced on Monday, March 13 as the Wolfpack women's basketball team is in the running to host NCAA Women's Basketball games.
