RALEIGH, N.C. - The No. 18 George Washington gymnastics team put together a dominant performance to capture its second-ever East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championship on Saturday afternoon at Reynolds Coliseum.
It marks GW's second EAGL title (2015, 2017) and the seventh conference title in program history after winning five straight Atlantic 10 Championships from 1998-2002.
GW's 196.275 topped the six-team field and the Colonials boasted their first-ever EAGL All-Around Champion as junior Cami Drouin-Allaire scored a season-high 39.40 to win the crown. She also won her second-career outright EAGL Vault championship with an outstanding 9.90 to top the field.
Head coach Margie Foster-Cunningham was honored as the EAGL Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the meet while junior Jillian Winstanley was the conference's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Click here to read more about the major end-of-season awards.

GW lived up to its national ranking of No. 16 on balance beam as all six gymnasts stuck their dismounts to help the Colonials to a team score of 49.275, the second-highest team total of the season.
Zois and DeMoura shared the team lead with identical scores of 9.875 to tie for fourth place. The score marks a season-high total for DeMoura.
Sara Mermelstein and Pfeiler each hit for 9.85 to tie for eighth place while Drouin-Allaire (9.825, 13th) and Winstanley (9.80) both posted solid routines for the Colonials.
GW virtually solidified the title with an outstanding effort on floor exercise, tying the season-high mark of 49.225 as all six gymnasts scored 9.80 or better. The Colonials registered four 9.85 routines as DeMoura, Drouin-Allaire, Raineri and Winstanley combined to tie for third place overall. Mermelstein added a 9.825 (T-11th) and Madeline Seibold (T-13th) contributed a 9.80 to send GW to the final rotation comfortably in first place.
On vault, Drouin-Allaire clinched her event and all-around titles with an outstanding 9.90 to lead GW to a team score of 49.025. Raineri (9.825, T-3rd), Winstanley (9.80, T-5th), Mermelstein (9.75, T-13th) and DeMoura (9.75, T-13th) all hit routines to send GW to the sixth and final rotation in first place.
Winstanley placed second in the all-around with a 39.25 to join Drouin-Allaire on the podium.
GW now awaits its next stop for the postseason when the NCAA Gymnastics Selection Show airs on Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. The Colonials will be making their third consecutive NCAA Regionals appearance and 13th all-time appearance.
