
Women's Tennis Falls at FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The George Washington women's tennis squad fell in the first of three matches this week, 4-1, at Florida Atlantic on Tuesday morning.
The Colonials (7-5) took an early lead with the doubles point, but ultimately fell in singles action.
FAU took the third-flight doubles contest to start the day, but the Colonials answered with a victory at the top spot by sophomore Maria Siopacha and freshman Melis Bayraktaroglu. Junior Marie-Louise Decamps and senior Taylor Nederlander solidified the early point with a hard-fought triumph at the No. 2 position to put GW ahead, 1-0.
FAU tied the match with a win at the top singles spot then carried the momentum to complete the comeback, taking the Nos. 2-4 bouts to claim the 4-1 victory.
The Colonials continue spring break play on Thursday, facing UConn at FAU at 2 p.m.
