Jillian Winstanley Named EAGL Gymnast of the Week

WASHINGTON - George Washington gymnastics junior Jillian Winstanley has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
It marks the fourth time in her career that she has been recognized as the conference's Gymnast of the Week.
Winstanley put forth an outstanding effort on Saturday night in GW's tri-meet victory against NC State and Kent State in Raleigh, North Carolina, tying her career-high score of 39.55 in the all-around to take the crown.
She posted two routines of 9.90 or better. On vault, she tied her career-high score with a 9.925 to win the event title. She also scored 9.90 on balance beam to claim third place.
Winstanley won another event title on uneven bars, tying for first place with a 9.875. She rounded out her performance on floor exercise, tying for fourth place with a 9.85.
GW returns to action at West Virginia this weekend in a quad meet with the Mountaineers, Pittsburgh and Eastern Michigan.
