Yoo Jin Kim Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- After helping GW to a third-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Match Play Championships, freshman Yoo Jin Kim has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the league announced Friday.
Kim, a native of Centreville, Virginia, went 2-1 in his three matches with head-to-head victories over golfers from George Mason and Florida Atlantic.
He first took a 5&4 victory versus Ellis Messian from George Mason, and then closed with a 3&2 win over Brian Dolehide of Florida Atlantic to help GW win the consolation final. Kim led GW in birdies in the event, making 16 in all, including six apiece in his two wins.
The Colonials are set to return to tournament play March 13-14 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for the Appalachian State Bash at the Beach.
