WASHINGTON - George Washington gymnastics junior Cami Drouin-Allaire was named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week on Wednesday morning.
The reigning EAGL Gymnast of the Year, the first in program history for GW, Drouin-Allaire won the all-around title for the second weekend in a row to help the Colonials to a first-place finish at the MetroPlex Challenge in Forth Worth, Texas.
She tied for first place on both vault (9.85) and balance beam (9.875), along with scores of 9.80 on uneven bars (T-8th) and 9.675 on floor exercise (T-19th).
Drouin-Allaire is currently the top vaulter in the EAGL with an average score of 9.867. She also ranks third in the all-around at 39.033.
The recognition marks the fourth time in her career that Drouin-Allaire has garnered a weekly award from the EAGL. She was a three-time Rookie of the Week during her All-America campaign as a freshman and was also named Gymnast of the Week in that first season.
GW returns home to the Charles E. Smith Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. to host the annual Brownie & Girl Scout Meet against New Hampshire and Ball State.
