NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Reese Moore of George Washington men's soccer was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Moore played all 181 minutes in the back over a pair of A-10 shutouts last week, helping the Colonials post home victories over George Mason and Dayton. The sophomore from Ohio picked up his first career assist in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Flyers with a long ball into the box to set up Drini Redzepi's goal.
It's the first career A-10 weekly honor for Moore, who is one of three Colonials to start all 12 games this season. He's GW's first Defensive Player of the Week since Thor Arne Höfs won the award on Sept. 19, 2016.
