TIPPING OFF: The George Washington women's basketball team returns home to the Charles E. Smith Center on Sunday afternoon for a late-afternoon clash with Duquesne in a game that will be televised by the American Sports Network (ASN) on CSN+. Tipoff in GW's Special Olympics Day is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: GW saw its three-game win streak end in a 67-59 loss at Saint Louis on Thursday night. Graduate student Lexi Martins saw her double-double streak end, finishing two rebounds shy, in a 22-point performance to lead the Colonials. She hit 9-of-16 field goals to lead the Colonials while pulling down eight rebounds.
A-10 REMATCH: GW aims for the regular-season sweep and to extend its win streak against Duquesne to six in a row in Sunday's rematch. The teams previously met on New Years Day in Pittsburgh where the Colonials ran away with a dominant 75-40 win.
Three players scored in double figures in the first meeting, led by Martins' 14-point, 10-rebound double-double. GW tallied season-high marks of field goals (32) and assists (25) in the contest while limiting Duquesne to just 20 points in the second-half, including a then season-low four points in the third quarter.
HOME SWEET HOME: GW returns to the Smith Center after a two-game road swing. The Colonials are 7-1 at home this season and have won 32 of the last 35 games played on their home court.
BRESEE'S BREAKTHROUGH: Freshman Kendall Bresee followed up her performance at UMass with another strong outing at Saint Louis on Thursday. The reigning A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week led GW with career-highs in rebounds (11) and assists (5) while chipping in eight points in 27 minutes.
CLEAN DIMES: Sophomore Mei-Lyn Bautista dished out four assists without a turnover at Saint Louis on Thursday.
SCOUTING DUQUESNE: The Dukes are 11-11 overall, 4-5 in the A-10 and have posted a 4-3 record since the first meeting on January 1.
Chassi Omogrosso continues to pace the Dukes in scoring at 14.4 points per game while Amadea Szamosi ranks second on the team at 12.5 points per game with a team-best 8.3 rebounds per contest.
SERIES HISTORY: GW leads the all-time series 52-11, including a 24-2 mark at home. The Colonials have won the last five meetings in a row, including a win in last year's Atlantic 10 Championship game.
