Women's Track Wins Three Events in Indoor Debut

LANCASTER, Pa. - A trio of competitors won their respective races as the George Washington women's track team opened its indoor season on Saturday at the Coach I Open at Schnader Field House at Franklin & Marshall College.
Sophomore Halley Brown's first-place finish in the mile led a trio of Colonials in the top five as she logged a winning time of 5:13.97, a new personal record. Senior Macaulay Porter followed in second place with a personal-best time of 5:16.31 while sophomore Madison Yerke also boasted a new PR in 5:16.81 to claim fourth place.
Junior Miranda DiBiasio was one of three Colonials to place in the top five of the 3000m. The Berea, Ohio, native won the event in a new personal-record time of 10:03.99, a nine-second improvement on her previous best. Senior Ariana North followed in sixth place in 10:54.82 and sophomore Kelli Stetson took seventh in 11:02.87.
Freshman Suzanne Dannheim rounded out GW's first-place performances by winning the 1,000-meter run in 3:12.34. Sophomore Lauren Anderson was right behind in second place, finishing in 3:14.06.
The Colonials also got a top-five performance from freshman Greta Goetz, who placed third in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.04.
GW will next compete when it sends select competitors to the Navy Mid-Week Meet on January 19 in Annapolis, Maryland.
