WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's soccer squad is set to visit Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday evening at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Colonials (1-0-2) posted a pair of double-overtime ties last week at home and Loyola (0-3-0) has scored just one goal on the year and enters Wednesday after a pair of road losses to Saint Francis (Pa.) and Old Dominion.
Junior Oliver Curry scored GW's goal in Saturday afternoon's 1-1 (2OT) draw with NJIT. Sophomore keeper Thor Arne Höfs has played all 310 minutes for the Colonials this season with 15 saves and an .882 save percentage.
Curry and senior Garrett Heine have each posted a team-high three points on the year with a goal and an assist.
Loyola has been outscored by opponents, 5-1, in 2016. Freshman Brian Saramago is responsible for the Greyhounds' goal, tallying his first career score on Friday evening at Old Dominion in a 2-1 loss. Rookie Josh Fawole earned his first career point on the play with the assist.
Matt Sanchez has played every minute for Loyola in goal, posting 10 saves with a .667 save percentage.
The Colonials defeated the Greyhounds, 1-0, a year ago at the GW Soccer Field on the Mount Vernon Campus behind Heine's gamewinner.
