GW Golf to Tee it up in VCU Janney Invitational

THIS WEEK: The GW golf team is set to compete in its second tournament of the 2016-17 season with the VCU Janney Invitational at the Country Club of Virginia Tuckahoe Creek Course on Monday and Tuesday.
FORMAT: The 54-hole tournament gets underway with an 8:45 a.m. ET start on Monday with 36 holes of continuous play. On Tuesday, the final round will also begin at 8:45 a.m. ET with a shotgun start. Live scoring can be found here: http://www.golfstat.com/home.html
VCU JANNEY INVITATIONAL: The tournament will be played at the par 72, 6,927-yard Tuckahoe Creek Course in Tuckahoe, Virginia. Representing the Colonials will be sophomore Logan Lowe, redshirt junior Christian Cichan, junior Vince Palazzolo and seniors Lucas Farmer and Michael Heda.
THE COMPETITION: The 14-team field consists of host VCU and fellow Atlantic 10 foe Richmond, along with Boston College, Charlotte, East Carolina, Iowa State, James Madison, Maryland, Old Dominion, UNC Greensboro, Radford, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: GW will look to build on a T-6th finish among a 16-team field at the season-opening Marshall Invitational last week. Lowe opened the tournament with a school-record 65 and went on to finish in a tie for seventh at 2-under par. Cichan also had a top 25 finish with a 4-over 214, including a 3-under 67 in his second round.
LOOKING AHEAD: Following a week off from competition, GW will play in the NC State Wolfpack Invitational on Monday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 4 in Raleigh, N.C.
