Lowe Finishes T-7th at Marshall Invitational

CHARLESTON, W.V. -- GW sophomore golfer Logan Lowe shot a 2-under par 208 at the 54-hole Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational to finish T-7th and lead the Colonials to a T-6th finish in their season-opening tournament.
Lowe, who opened the tournament on Monday with a school-record 65 at the par 70 Berry Hills Country Club, followed with a 73 and 70 for his total of 2-under. Redshirt junior Christian Cichan also had a top-25 finish with a 4-over 214, shooting a 73 in the final round after carding 74-67 in the first two rounds to come in T-23rd.
Senior Lucas Farmer was T-31st in the 95-man field with a 7-over 217 (71-73-73) while junior Vince Palazzolo was T-60th with a 225 (75-77-73). In his first collegiate tournament, freshman Adrian Castagnola shot a 232 (79-77-76) and was T-81st.
As a team, GW shot a 24-over 864 (285-290-289) to finish in a tie for sixth with Wichita State. Eastern Kentucky (7-under 833) captured the championship and the top-5 was rounded out by Virginia Tech (1-over 841), Dayton (3-over 843), Marshall (14-over 854) and Bowling Green (16-over 856).
Individually, Erik Lindwall of EKU (7-under 203) edged out Patrick Luth of Cleveland State (6-under 204) for the championship.
The Colonials are set to return to play on Monday at the VCU Janney Invitational in Richmond, Va.
