GW Men's Soccer Ranked Eighth in NSCAA Midwest Region

WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's soccer team has earned a No. 8 ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division I Midwest Poll after the first week of competition.
The Colonials (1-0-1) are off to a strong start after winning their first game of the season at William & Mary, 2-1, and playing Binghamton to a scoreless draw after double overtime on Monday at the GW Soccer Field at Mount Vernon Campus.
GW ranks eighth in the region behind Indiana (2-0-0), Maryland (1-0-1), Delaware (2-0-0). Saint Louis (1-1-0), Hofstra (1-1-0), Rhode Island (2-0-0) and Wisconsin (1-0-0). Michigan (0-0-2) and Northwestern (1-1-0) round out the top 10.
Senior Garrett Heine and sophomore Dylan Lightbourn lead the Colonials with one goal each. Goalkeeper Thor Arne Höfs has 11 saves so far this season after starting both matches for GW.
The Colonials return to action on Saturday when they host NJIT at the GW Soccer Field at Mount Vernon Campus as part of the annual Kickin' at the Vern Weekend.
