NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The George Washington lacrosse team earned three Atlantic 10 postseason honors, the league announced on Wednesday. Senior midfielder Olivia Boudreau and junior attacker Bailey Forcier were both tabbed to the All-Conference Second Team, while graduate student defender Jacqui Stevens landed on the All-Academic squad.
Boudreau was second on the team with 19 assists, 33 points and 16 caused turnovers in 2016 and ranked 10th in the A-10 with 1.12 assists per game. She added 14 goals, 21 ground balls and 16 draw controls on the year. The native of North Andover, Massachusetts, was one of five Colonials to start all 17 games this season, and she tallied at least one point in 16-of-17 contests, including a career-high five at VCU on April 17. A two-time team co-captain, Boudreau finished her career ranked fifth all-time at GW with 51 assists.
Forcier ranked fourth in the A-10 with 1.59 assists per game, and her team- and career-best 34 draw controls matched the 10th-highest single-season total in program history. She also led GW with 27 assists and 48 points -- both career highs -- and was third on the team with 21 goals. The Victoria, Minnesota, native turned it up in conference games, tallying 21 of her 27 assists and 24 of her 34 draw controls against league opponents to rank third in the A-10 in assists (2.33 per game) and draw controls (2.67 per game) and fifth in points (3.78 per game). One of five Colonials to start all 17 games this season, Forcier tallied at least one point in the final 14 games of the year, including a career-high eight at VCU on April 17 en route to A-10 Co-Player of the Week honors.
Stevens earned her bachelor's degree in art history last spring and is currently pursuing her master's in tourism administration with a concentration in event and meeting management. A six-time Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll member and a two-time IWLCA Academic Honor Roll selection, she boasts a 3.77 grade-point average in grad school after garnering a 3.63 GPA in undergrad. A native of Newtown, Pennsylvania, Stevens is a team co-captain who has started all 17 games this season and ranks second on the Colonials with 30 ground balls and third with 14 caused turnovers.
