Eight GW Gymnasts Earn All-EAGL Honors

BALTIMORE - Eight George Washington gymnasts were selected to the 2016 All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Team, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The eight selections is the most in a single season for GW since joining the conference in 2005.
Sophomores Jillian Winstanley and Cami Drouin-Allaire each earned five All-EAGL selections, with four First Team nods apiece.
Drouin-Allaire was named to the First Team in the all-around (39.30 RQS), vault (9.875), uneven bars (9.820) and floor exercise (9.885). She was also named Second Team on the balance beam (9.815).
Winstanley earned First Team honors in the all-around (39.320), vault (9.870), uneven bars and balance beam (9.860) in addition to a Second Team selection on floor exercise (9.805).
Junior Alex DeMoura earned a trio of First Team selections for the first time in her collegiate career. She was named to the First Team for all-around (39.040), balance beam (9.830) and floor exercise (9.835). She was also named to the Second Team on both the vault (9.755) and uneven bars (9.785).
Junior Chelsea Raineri earned her third consecutive First Team honor on vault (9.845) in addition to a pair of Second Team nods on uneven bars (9.810) and floor exercise (9.815).
Sophomore Liz Pfeiler repeated as a First Team balance beam performer (9.850). Sophomore Sara Mermelstein also clinched her second consecutive Second Team honor on balance beam (9.800) in addition to her first career honor on floor exercise (9.825).
A pair of sophomores earned their first career All-EAGL honors. Alex Zois was named to the First Team on uneven bars (9.815) and the Second Team on balance beam (9.820) while Madeline Seibold was honored as a Second Team floor exercise (9.820) performer.
First Team All-EAGL on each event and the all-around includes the top eight ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the 10-week regular season based on regional-qualifying score (RQS). Second Team All-EAGL includes gymnasts ranked Nos. 9-16.
Major EAGL award winners will be announced on Friday evening, ahead of Saturday's EAGL Championship at Pittsburgh's Fitzgerald Field House.
