GW Gymnastics Lands 12 on All-EAGL Scholastic Team

BALTIMORE - Twelve George Washington gymnastics student-athletes were named to the 2016 All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Scholastic Team.
A total of 73 gymnasts from five schools were honored, with the University of New Hampshire and Pittsburgh each leading the way with 16 honorees. N.C. State had 15 student-athletes recognized along with 12 from George Washington, 10 from Towson and nine from North Carolina.
In order to be honored as a Scholastic Team member, a gymnast must be active on her school's roster as of January 1 and must have maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or above. Freshmen are eligible with Fall 2015 semester grades only.
Senior Taylor Redmond and juniors Kaila Solomon and Kaitlin Cowles each earned their third career recognition to lead the Colonials' honorees.
Sophomores Jillian Winstanley, Cami Drouin-Allaire, Sara Mermelstein, Jessica Mishlove and Liz Pfeiler each earned their second consecutive recognition. Senior Alexsis Petrikis was also honored for the second time in her career.
Freshman Yurina Harada and sophomores Alex Zois and Madeline Seibold all picked up their first career honors.
The 2016 EAGL Championship will be held on Saturday, March 19, at Pittsburgh's Fitzgerald Field House at 2 p.m.
