Women's Basketball Hosts Loyola (Md.) in Non-Conference Finale

TIPPING OFF: The George Washington women's basketball team hosts Loyola (Md.) at the Charles E. Smith Center on Friday afternoon at 12 p.m. for its final non-conference game of the season.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials took on No. 14 Stanford on Wednesday evening, falling at home, 71-52, for the first time this season. GW battled early, trailing the Cardinal by one after the first quarter before Stanford broke away in the second, outscoring the Buff and Blue, 30-9. The Colonials fought back after the intermission posting a 22-13 advantage in the third quarter, but could not catch the Cardinal, who held a 17-11 scoring edge in the final frame.
DOUBLING UP: Senior Caira Washington registered her team-leading third double-double of the season with 10 points and 13 rebounds on Wednesday, marking her 32nd-career double-double.
GOOD OFF THE GLASS: The Colonials outrebounded Stanford, 47-36, on Wednesday - the 10th time in 12 games this season that GW has beaten its opponent on the glass. Senior Hannah Schaible set a career best with 14 boards against the Cardinal, besting her previous high of 12 rebounds and setting a new a single-game high for GW this season.
BLOCK PARTY: Five different Colonials registered blocks on Wednesday as GW posted seven rejections on the night to total 78 on the season. The Buff and Blue entered the game ranked sixth in the nation in blocks.
SCOUTING LOYOLA: Loyola has not played since December 11, when it limited #6 Maryland to its second-lowest point total of the season in a 79-60 loss at Reitz Arena in Baltimore.
The Greyhounds are 4-6 overall on the year and are led by Bri Berz-White, who averages a team-best 15.5 points per game.
SERIES HISTORY: GW is 14-1 all-time against Loyola (Md.) and has won each game by an average margin of 18.1 points. The margin of victory in home games extends to 19.2 across nine victories.
The last meeting was December 28, 2014, when Washington's 19 points led the Colonials to a 72-49 win over the Greyhounds at Reitz Arena in Baltimore. Then-sophomore Shannon Cranshaw contributed eight points and six assists in the rout.
