WASHINGTON - For the second season in a row the George Washington women's basketball team will adorn sneakers with gold laces as part of the #Go4TheGoal Lace up 4 Pediatric Cancer campaign on Sunday, Dec. 4, when the Colonials take on Illinois at the Charles E. Smith Center.
Go4theGoal is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial support, developing unique hospital programs, funding research and granting personal wishes.
Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer is a nation-wide display of the commitment to fight against pediatric cancer and is centered around gold shoe laces. Initiated in 2011, the campaign raises funds to support children with cancer and their families in the localities of the events. Donations generated at Sunday's game will help families in the DC-area.
Fans can donate at collection sites located at all ticketed entrances at the Smith Center on Sunday, or visit Go4theGoal online here.
