Heine Earns Weekly Awards After Four-Goal Week

George Washington men's soccer senior Garrett Heine has been named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week, National Player of the Week by CollegeSoccerNews.com, and Division I College Player of the Week by the NSCAA for his stellar performance during the week ending Oct. 16.
The San Diego, California, native tallied an impressive nine points in two matches last week, scoring two goals in each of GW's A-10 matchups.
On Wednesday, Heine began his week by assisting the eventual gamewinner at George Mason. Heine then solidified the victory by netting two goals of his own to match a career-best five points in a single match as the Colonials took a 3-0 win over the Patriots.
On Saturday the midfielder continued his strong play, scoring GW's first and deciding goal at home against Saint Joseph's. Heine later scored again on a tremendous shot off of a set piece to lift the Buff and Blue over Saint Joseph's, 3-0.
The Colonials improved to 7-3-5 overall and 2-1-2 in Atlantic 10 play with the wins last week.
As National Player of the Week, Heine was also named to CollegeSoccerNews.com's National Team of the Week. Heine also garnered GW's Colonial of the Week honors.
