NORFOLK, Va. - The George Washington women's tennis squad completed day two of the ITA Atlantic Region Championships on Saturday at Old Dominion's Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
Sophomore Maria Siopacha competed in the singles main draw after earning a spot with two qualifying wins on Friday. Siopacha took on 5-8 seed Derya Turhan from Marshall but fell, 6-4, 6-0, in the Round of 64.
Junior Marie-Louise Decamps entered the tournament in the singles main draw but dropped her first-round match, 6-4, 6-3. Both Siopacha and Decamps will continue in consolation play.
In doubles action, the duo of Siopacha and freshman Melis Bayraktaroglu took on 9-16 seed Alexandra Stanova and Kristina Hovsepyan but fell 8-4 in the Round of 32.
Singles consolation action will continue on Sunday.
