THIS WEEK: Following a two-week break from competition, the GW golf team heads to NC State for the Wolfpack Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
FORMAT: The 54-hole tournament features 36 holes Monday, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, and a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. Live scoring can be followed here: http://www.golfstatresults.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=participants&tid=10779
NC STATE WOLFPACK INVITATIONAL: The par 71, 7,358-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course on the NC State campus in Raleigh will host the tournament. Representing GW will be sophomore Logan Lowe, redshirt junior Christian Cichan, junior Vince Palazzolo, and seniors Lucas Farmer and Michael Heda.
THE COMPETITION: The 16-team field consists of Augusta, Campbell Davidson, East Carolina, George Mason, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Maryland, NC State, Rhode Island, Temple, UNC Greensboro, USC Upstate, Winthrop and Wofford.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: GW has competed in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate in each of the last two seasons, and are sending the same lineup to the tournament that they did last year. "The guys are confident heading into it and everyone that's traveling has played the golf course before, so we bring a lot of experience and some good memories," said head coach Chuck Scheinost. "It was great to have a two-week break to take a breather and shore up some things in their games, and as a result of that our qualifying scores were much better this week."
LOOKING AHEAD: GW will take another two-week break following play at NC State, returning to North Carolina for the Elon Invitational Oct. 17-18.
