- The Colonials won their Atlantic 10 Conference opener for the third year in a row and the fourth time in five seasons. The reigning conference champs improve to 24-10 all-time in A-10 openers.
- GW extended its winning streak to six games dating to Dec. 6 at Memphis. It marks the Colonials' fourth win streak of six or more games in the last three seasons.
- GW posted its fourth win in the last five meetings with Saint Joseph's, a fellow founding member of the Atlantic 10. Senior Jonquel Jones, who has dominated the Hawks throughout her career, led the Colonials with 16 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. She has averaged 20.8 points, 14.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks in four career games against SJU.
- Saint Joseph's 45 points, .256 field goal percentage (20-for-78) and 0-for-14 effort from 3-point range were season lows by a GW opponent. The Colonials held the Hawks to single-digit scoring in the second and fourth quarters, allowing just eight points in each stanza. GW limited SJU to 8-for-38 shooting (21.1 percent) in the first half while building a 40-18 halftime advantage.
- Jones posted her 11th double-double in the last 12 games. She surpassed Kristin McArdle ('92) to move into fifth place on GW's all-time rebounding list with 836 as a Colonial, while her 916 career rebounds rank ninth among active Division I players. Jones' 11 double-doubles this season rank second nationally.
- Four Colonials scored in double digits at Saint Joseph's: Jones (16), graduate student Lauren Chase (16), junior Hannah Schaible (10) and sophomore Kelli Prange (10). It marks the third time this season that four Colonials have scored at least 10 points in a game.
- GW won the battle of the boards for the 14th straight game to start the season, outrebounding the Hawks, 49-40, on Sunday afternoon. The Colonials rank first in the nation with 51.8 rebounds per game and rank second in rebounding margin (+18.1). Jones led all players with 13 caroms on Sunday and continues to lead the nation with 15.1 boards per contest.
- The Colonials tallied double-digit blocks for the second time this season, as Jones and junior Caira Washington swatted four and three shots, respectively. Jones is sixth in the nation with 39 total blocks on the season.
- For the fifth game in a row, GW made more foul shots than its opponent attempted, as the Colonials made 12 free throws in 18 tries, paced by sophomore Brianna Cummings' perfect 6-for-6 effort, compared to the Hawks' 5-for-8 afternoon at the stripe.
