No. 11 GW Gymnastics Improves to 7-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The No. 11 George Washington gymnastics team improved to 7-0 as the Colonials earned a dual-meet victory over East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) rival North Carolina on Saturday afternoon at Carmichael Arena.
GW tallied event scores of 48.725 on vault, 48.65 on uneven bars, 48.75 on balance beam and 48.825 on floor exercise for a total team score of 194.95. North Carolina finished with 194.275.
Sophomore Cami Drouin-Allaire won both the all-around (39.25) and the vault (9.875) to lead the Colonials. She added marks of 9.75 on uneven bars (4th), 9.825 on balance beam (5th) and 9.80 on floor exercise (t-2nd).
Junior Chelsea Raineri earned a podium appearance in each of the three events in which she competed. She tied for the uneven bars title with a 9.825 while tying for second on floor exercise (9.80) and tying for third on vault (9.775).
The sophomore duo of Liz Pfeiler and Alex Zois were both part of a four-way tie for the balance beam title with a score of 9.85. The routine is a career-best mark for Zois and tied a personal best for Pfeiler.
Junior Alex DeMoura tied for third place on vault (9.775) and tied for fifth on floor exercise (9.75) en route to a fifth-place finish in the all-around (38.55).
GW continues its road trip next weekend with a visit to Kent State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
