CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The GW women's tennis team is set to wrap the UVa Invitational on Sunday after completing Day 2 on Saturday. Freshman Diana Kussainova will compete in her second flight championship of the fall in the final day of the tournament's competition.
In the White Flight singles play, Kussainova defeated Utah's Taylor Calton, 6-2, 6-0, to advance to Sunday's flight championship, where the rookie will take on Miami (Ohio)'s Anzhelika Shapovalova. Sophomore Teodora Radosavljevic will play UVa's Erica Susi for fifth place in the Orange Flight after defeating Old Dominion's Natalia Vlasova in come-from-behind fashion, 5-7, 6-4, 10-7.
In the Blue Flight, sophomore Marie-Louise Decamps dropped a 7-5, 6-2 bout with Maryland's Kristina Hovsepyan in the consolation semifinals to wrap her weekend of solo play.
