GW Golf Student-Athletes Active in Summer Tournaments

WASHINGTON - Five George Washington golf student-athletes are staying active on the links this summer with appearances at a number of events throughout the east coast.
Freshman Logan Lowe is currently playing in the the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Colleton River Plantation in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Lowe has advanced to match play in the tournament after finishing stroke play amongst the top-62 golfers in the 156-player field with back-to-back rounds of 74. He finished tied for 42nd place in the standings.
Lowe earned a 6 & 4 victory Chandler Eaton on Monday afternoon to advance to the round of 32. He tee's off at Brody Blackmon at 10:03 a.m. on Thursday morning. You can follow live scoring for the USJA here.
Sophomore Jack Porcelli fired consecutive rounds of 75 (+1) and currently sits in 18th place entering third-round play in the 93rd New York State Amateur Championship. He will open the third round on Thursday morning . Live scoring for the NYSA is available here.
Last week, sophomore Vince Palazzolo finished tied for 29th place out of 137 competitors in the 95th New Jersey State Golf Association Open. The Colts Neck, New Jersey, native fired consecutive rounds of 73-75-73.
Elsewhere, senior Steve Piela will be playing in the upcoming New Jersey Public Links Championship after qualifying last week with a 75. The tournament begins on Thursday at Howell Park Golf Course in Farmington, New Jersey.
Additionally, junior Lucas Farmer qualified for the 50th Delaware Open, August 3-4 at Rehobath Beach Yacht & Country Club. Farmer fired a 77 (+5) and finished in a tie for 28th place in his qualifying tournament.
