WASHINGTON - GW golf will conclude the 2014-15 regular season on April 18-19 at the 39th annual Rutherford Intercollegiate on Penn State's Blue Course in State College, Pennsylvania.
Among the 12-team field will be Atlantic 10 rivals St. Bonaventure and Saint Joseph's, whom the Colonials will face again less than a week later at the 2015 A-10 Championship at Harmony Golf Preserve in Harmony, Florida, on April 24-26.
GW will also compete against host Penn State, Bowling Green, Binghamton, Canisius, Cleveland State, Eastern Michigan, Georgetown, Rutgers and Youngstown State on the par-71, 7,202-yard Blue Course. The Colonials most recently played in the Rutherford Intercollegiate in 2010, and recorded a runner-up finish in its next previous appearance in 2006.
Senior Jack Persons, juniors Steve Piela and Michael Helton, sophomore Lucas Farmer and freshman Zack Bailey will comprise the Colonials' five-player team, while rookie Jack Porcelli will compete as an individual.
Persons, Helton and Farmer are three of GW's top four scorers this spring, while Piela is coming off a team-best tie for 42nd place at last week's Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Club, the venue for this spring's U.S. Open.
