GW Gymnastics Places 12 on EAGL All-Scholastic Team

BALTIMORE - Twelve George Washington gymnastics student-athletes were named to the 2015 All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Scholastic Team, the league office announced on Tuesday.
In order to be honored as a Scholastic Team member, a gymnast must be active on her school's roster as of Jan. 1, and must have maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or above. Freshman are eligible with Fall 2014 semester grades only.
A total of 68 gymnasts from six schools were honored with the University of New Hampshire leading the way with 15 honorees. Pittsburgh ranked second with 13 honorees while GW tied with Towson with 12.
The senior quartet of Kaija Aploks, Elena Corcoran, Brenna Marcoux and Courtney Willoughby were each honored for the fourth consecutive year.
Junior Taylor Redmond, along with sophomores Kaila Solomon and Caitlin Cowles, each earned their second career All-Scholastic honors while freshmen Jillian Winstanley, Cami Drouin-Allaire, Liz Pfeiler, Sara Mermelstein and Jessica Mishlove were each honored for the first time.
The 2015 EAGL Championship will be held on Sunday, March 22, at Towson's SECU Arena at 12:00 p.m.
