GW Women's Tennis Falls to A-10 Foe Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The George Washington women's tennis squad dropped its first Atlantic 10 match of the season, 6-1, against conference newcomer Davidson on Saturday at the Wildcats' Covington Tennis Courts.
The Colonials (4-7, 0-1 A-10) triumphed in the top doubles position, as junior Lana Robins and sophomore Grace Egger came out on top, 8-5, but the Wildcats (7-4, 2-1 A-10) took the Nos. 2 and 3 bouts for an early lead.
In singles play, freshman Teodora Radosavljevic improved her spring solo record to 7-4, defeating Davidson's Elaina Cummer, 6-2, 6-3, to earn GW's point on the day.
Junior Egle Jakuciunaite took foe Cassidy Shell the distance before falling, 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (10-3) in the No. 6 slot.
Davidson won flights 2-5 in straight sets for the victory.
The Buff and Blue remain in North Carolina to take on Elon on Sunday at the Phoenix's Jimmy Powell Tennis Center at 1 p.m.
