WASHINGTON - The 2015 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championship has been relocated to Towson University and will take place on Sunday, Mar. 22. The event was previously scheduled to take place at George Washington University, but due to possible scheduling conflicts with preliminary rounds of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, the championship will be moved to nearby EAGL member Towson University.
For the first time this year, the top-16 teams in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament will host first- and second-round games. The George Washington women's basketball team, which currently holds the No. 11 RPI in the country, could be in position to host, and per NCAA rules, must do so on the George Washington campus. The dates for the first and second rounds of the tournament conflict with the EAGL Championships, previously scheduled to take place at GW's Charles E. Smith Center on Saturday, Mar. 21.
Further details about timing and ticketing will be announced in the coming days.
