GW Gymnastics Concludes Road Swing at Kent State

WASHINGTON - The George Washington gymnastics team will compete in its final match of its current five-match road swing when it visits Kent State on Sunday afternoon for a dual meet at 1:00 p.m. at the Memorial Athletics and Convocation Center.
GW carries a 13-2-1 overall record into Sunday's meet following last weekend's first-place tie at Maryland's quad meet. GW set a new team record on vault with a score of 49.475 and a season-high team score on floor exercise with 49.225.
Freshman Cami Drouin-Allaire won the all-around competition, aided by a school-record tying 9.95 on vault, to pace the Colonials. Classmate Jillian Winstanley finished in third place in the all-around.
Sophomore Chelsea Raineri was named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week for the second time this season after tying for first place on floor exercise with a 9.90. She also scored 9.875 on vault and 9.75 on uneven bars.
Raineri currently leads the EAGL and ranks 24th in the nation with a regional-qualifying score (RQS) on the floor exercise score of 9.865.
Entering the weekend, GW has the top four vault performers in the EAGL. Drouin-Allaire leads the conference and is tied for 17th in the nation with a RQS of 9.89. Raineri ranks second with a RQS of 9.875, followed by Winstanley (9.855) and senior Elena Corcoran (9.81).
Drouin-Allaire also holds EAGL ranks of third in the all-around (39.09) and fifth on the floor exercise (9.81).
Winstanley ranks third in the EAGL in the all-around with a RQS of 39.090, while leading the conference on uneven bars (9.815).
