GW Gymnastics Continues Road Trip at Maryland on Friday

WASHINGTON - The George Washington gymnastics team will compete in its fourth consecutive road meet when it visits Maryland on Friday evening for a quad meet against the host Terrapins, Towson and William & Mary at Comcast Center at 7:00 p.m.
GW is currently ranked No. 29 in the nation with an average team score of 194.804 and also boasts national rankings of No. 18 on vault (49.050 average) and No. 21 on floor exercise (48.886 average).
The Colonials carry a 12-2 record into Friday's meet, which is the fourth out of five consecutive road meets. Last weekend, GW finished in third place in a tri-meet in Raleigh, North Carolina, against NC State and William & Mary.
As a team, GW's vault average leads the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL). The Colonials also pace the conference on floor exercise, led by sophomore Chelsea Raineri. The Telford, Pennsylvania, native is the EAGL's top floor performer with an average routine of 9.843.
Three of GW's student-athletes rank among the top six for individual vault rankings in the EAGL. Freshman Cami Drouin-Allaire is third overall with an average of 9.864 while classmate Jillian Winstanley follows in fourth at 9.825. Sophomore Chelsea Raineri ranks sixth overall with an average routine of 9.811.
Winstanley sits second in the conference in the all-around rankings, averaging a score of 39.111 per meet. In addition to vault, she also ranks in the top five for uneven bars (4th, 9.814).
