GW Women's Tennis Downs Navy to Open Weekend

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The George Washington women's tennis team defeated Navy, 4-3, in a Saturday morning matchup at the Mids' Tose Family Tennis Center. Freshman Teodora Radosavljevic remains perfect in the spring with her fourth straight singles victory in the No. 1 slot.
The Colonials (3-1) came out strong, sweeping doubles play in dominant fashion to secure the early point over the Midshipmen (5-3).
"Hansen and Nederlander were impressive from start to finish on the doubles court," said Head Coach Greg Munoz. "We came out strong overall at doubles today."
In singles action, Radosavljevic defeated Navy's Sam Droop, 6-1, 6-1, at the top of the ladder to remain unbeaten in the spring. GW then fell at the Nos. 5 and 6 positions to knot the score at 2-2 before sophomore Grace Egger and freshman Marie-Louise Decamps notched singles victories in third- and second-flight action, respectively, to clinch the match for the Buff and Blue.
"Teodora was all business, finishing her match in under an hour," said Coach Munoz. "Marie-Louise clinched the match for us for a great team win."
The Colonials travel to cross-town rival Georgetown (3-1) on Sunday for a 6 p.m. contest.
