- Senior Jonquel Jones became the 30th member of GW's 1,000-point club. Entering Sunday's game needing 20 points to reach the milestone, she scored 21, hitting the mark on a jumper with 2:29 remaining. Jones previously eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau for her entire career (including her time at Clemson) on Dec. 3.
- Jones posted her ninth straight double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds against the Gaels. She passed Ugo Oha ('04) for seventh place on GW's all-time rebounding list with 797 in her three years as a Colonial and is tops in the nation with 15.6 rebounds per game.
- GW won the battle of the boards for the 11th straight game, outrebounding Iona, 51-32.
- The Colonials continue to lead the nation in rebounding, averaging 50.91 boards per contest, and rank fifth in the nation in rebounding margin (17.1)
- The Buff and Blue outscored the Gaels, 23-10, in the second quarter to take an 11-point halftime lead. GW also used a 9-0 run late in the fourth period to take the lead for good after Iona had surged in front.
- Junior Hannah Schaible posted a season-high 16 points on Sunday with help from a perfect 8-8 performance from the charity stripe. GW made more foul shots than Iona attempted, as the Colonials got to the line 37 times and converted 25 foul shots, compared to the Gaels' 14-of-23 afternoon at the stripe.
- GW matched a season high with seven blocks on Sunday.
