ITA Atlantic Region Championships Tournament Central
LYNCHBURG, Va. - Sophomore Marie-Louise Decamps won a pair of singles matches at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships on Thursday to advance to the main draw as the Colonials completed the first day of competition at the Liberty-hosted tournament.
Decamps opened qualifying singles play with a victory over Temple's Yana Khon, 7-5, 6-1, before downing Kaja Mrgole of West Virginia, 6-4, 6-3. With the pair of victories, Decamps earned a slot in the main draw and will face Ekaterina Tour of Maryland on Friday in the Round of 64.
Sophomore Teodora Radosavljevic will take on top-seeded Julia Elbaba of Virgina - the ITA's No. 3 solo player - in the main draw Round of 64 Friday morning.
In doubles play, Decamps paired up with Radosavljevic to defeat Mount St. Mary's Erin Benefiel and Kelly Smith, 8-2, in the main draw Round of 64. The Colonials will take on the seventh-seeded Francesca Fusinato and Kelly Williford of Virginia Tech Friday afternoon.
