GW Gymnastics to Host Bowling Green on Sunday

WASHINGTON - The undefeated George Washington gymnastics team returns home to the Charles E. Smith Center to host Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. for its annual Brownie & Girl Scout Meet.
GW is 8-0 through the season's first three meets and ranked No. 27 in the nation with an average team score of 194.792. The Colonials are also tied for 18th in the nation with an average vault score of 48.975 and are 24th on floor exercise, averaging 48.825 per meet.
Last weekend, the Colonials defeated then-No. 23 Iowa State and West Virginia in a tri-meet in Morgantown, West Virginia. GW (195.025) eclipsed the 195.00 mark for the second consecutive meet while boasting a season-high team score on balance beam (48.80).
Entering the weekend, freshman Jillian Winstanley ranks second in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) in the all-around (39.125), third on uneven bars (9.80) and fifth on balance beam (9.783).
Freshman Cami Drouin-Allaire ranks second in the conference on vault with an average score of 9.867. She also ranks fifth in the all-around with an average of 38.983.
Also garnering top-five EAGL rankings entering Sunday's meet is senior Elena Corcoran, freshman Sara Mermelstein and sophomore Chelsea Raineri. Corcoran is fifth on vault with an average of 9.808 while Mermelstein is tied for second on balance beam, averaging 9.783 per routine. Raineri ranks second on floor exercise with an average of 9.825.
