KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - GW golf vaulted four spots up the leaderboard with a 4-over-par 292 team total in the second round of the Wendy's Kiawah Classic at Turtle Point Golf Course on Monday.
GW opened with a 19-over 307 and was tied for 16th place out of 20 teams following Sunday's opening round on the par-72, 7,061-yard layout, but shaved 15 shots off its team total on Monday thanks to playing the front nine in 1-under and the closing three holes in 5-under. The Colonials will enter Tuesday's final round in 12th place at 23-over 599, six shots outside the top 10 and nine shy of the top five. Winthrop (+7 583) holds a four-shot lead over Missouri (+11 587) in the team standings, while Jacksonville State's Tomasz Anderson is the individual leader of the 108-player field at 4-under 140.

Persons, who reached 4-under through 11 holes before settling at even-par 72 on Monday, is currently tied for 14th at 2-over 146 (74-72) and will be search of his third top-10 finish of the fall in Tuesday's final round.
Heda, who has amassed a team-best seven birdies after making four during a 3-over 75 on Sunday and three in Monday's 2-over 74, is tied for 30th at 5-over 149 (75-74).
