NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Three George Washington softball student-athletes were named to Atlantic 10 All-Conference Teams, the league announced on Wednesday. The trio helped GW secure a spot in the six-team Atlantic 10 Championship for the first time since 2007 and just the second time ever. The Colonials earned the No. 4 seed in this week's tournament with an 11-9 conference record, and their 22 overall victories on the season are the third-most in program history.
Wilson and Clauss are the first Colonials to earn all-conference honors since Amanda Gabriel and Chrysanthi Halkiotis were tabbed to the second team in 2008.
Clauss has won a school-record 14 games this season and boasts a 2.75 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 183.1 innings of work, including 15 complete games. The
Valos has put together one of the best rookie campaigns in GW history.
