Colonial Gymnasts Conclude Season At NCAA Athens Regional

ATHENS, GA- Senior Leslie Delima, sophomore Kayla Carto, redshirt sophomore Monique Blount and freshmen Kiera Kenney and Betsy Zander concluded their 2011 season on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Athens Regional at the University of Georgia.
Against some of the nations premier gymnasts, Delima tied for 11th place on the balance beam and 12th place on the floor exercise with scores of 9.750 and 9.800, respectively. The All-EAGL First Team selection (all-around, floor exercise, balance beam) also scored 9.600 on the vault and 9.450 on the uneven bars. She finished in 12th place overall in the all-around with a score of 37.550.
Zander finished in 17th place in the all-around with a score of 37.550. She registered scores of 9.500 on the vault, 9.625 on the uneven bars, 9.625 on the balance beam and 8.8 on the floor exercise.
Also representing GW in the all-around was Carto, who finished in 19th place with a score of 36.225. Carto scored 9.550 on the vault, 8.4 on the uneven bars, 8.625 on the balance beam and 9.650 on the floor exercise.
Kenney, an All-EAGL Second Team selection on bars, tied for 23rd with a score of 9.675. Blount registered a 8.7 on the balance beam.
The University of California, Los Angeles and host University of Georgia won the team portion of the Athens Regional and advance to the NCAA Gymnastics Championships in Cleveland, OH April 15-17.
