
Women's Tennis Defeats Navy, 5-2

ANNAPOLIS, MD-- The George Washington women's tennis team advanced to 6-1 on the season with a 5-2 victory over Navy on Saturday at the Brigade Sports Complex.
The Colonials picked up the doubles point by a sweep of the Midshipmen. At No. 1 singles, Zoe Krohn and Mimi Hamling defeated Amanda Griffin and Erin Snook, 8-4.
GW carried the momentum into their singles matches. Junior Jacqueline Corba won at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-4, over Griffin, for her fifth singles victory of the season.
Freshman Julia Blakeley and Leah Pascarella defeated their Navy opponents in straight sets at the Nos. 2 and 3 matches. Hamling also won at No. 4 singles over Darien Sears, 6-4, 6-0.
The Colonials head on the road to take on the Richmond Spiders on Saturday, March 5, with matches starting 12:30 p.m. On Sunday, March 6, GW welcomes Morgan State to the Mount Vernon Tennis Center. Matches are set to start at 12:00 p.m.
