Leslie Delima Named EAGL Gymnast of the Week

MORGANTOWN, WV - Senior Leslie Delima was voted the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Delima was honored following an amazing performance on Sunday afternoon in which she set or tied three personal records while helping GW to a second-place team finish at the Lindsey Ferris Invitational.
The Virginia Beach, VA native finished second overall in the meet with a personal-best score of 39.175. She finished as the top individual on the floor exercise as she tied her personal-best with a score of 9.875. She also set a personal record with a 9.825 on the vault, good enough for second-place.
Additionally, Delima finished in second-place on the balance beam with a score of 9.825 and registered a 9.650 on the uneven parallel bars.
Delima was voted team MVP at the conclusion of last season. She has competed in every meet during her career and is a three-time qualifier for NCAA Regional's. She looks to build on her amazing career in her final year of eligibility. Last season she earned First Team All-EAGL honors on the floor exercise and Second Team All-EAGL on All-Around.
