Women's Rowing Completes Fall Race Schedule

WOODBRIDGE, VA- The George Washington women's rowing team completed their fall racing schedule on Saturday morning at the Head of the Occoquan in Woodbridge, VA. GW raced one boat in the Women's Collegiate Novice Eight event, finishing in seventh-place out of 25 crews. The event was won by Georgetown University with a time of 18:49.40.
The Colonials navigated the course in 20:17.45 and were led on the water by coxswain Penina Smith. Sarah Pickus sat stroke, Kayleigh Ryherd rowed from the seven seat, Hannah Gisness sat in the six seat, Morgan Oxenrider rowed from the five seat, Catherine Niech rowed from the four seat, Caroline Gaffney sat in the three seat, Gephen Sadove rowed from the two seat, and Rebecca Blathras sat bow.
GW will now resume training and return to action on March 26 when they travel to Philadelphia to compete for the Murphy Cup. The Colonials will also host the George Washington Invitational Regatta on April 8th and 9th.
