Lafferty Named Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington men's soccer freshman goalkeeper Brendan Lafferty was chosen Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, after recording his first career shutout in a 2-0 victory over Howard last Saturday.
Lafferty made four saves in his first collegiate start to keep the Bison off the scoreboard in the Colonials final game of the DC College Cup. The A-10 Preseason All-Rookie Team selection made a save to prevent a goal in last Wednesday's 2-0 loss versus American and has yet to allow a goal in just over 105 minutes of action.
GW opens its Mount Vernon Field home schedule at 4:00 pm this afternoon, Sept. 8, against the University of the District of Columbia.
