LORTON, VA -- George Washington's Brendan Barrack tied for medalist honors at the Patriot Intercollegiate Monday as the Colonials placed second with a two-round 630. The 36-hole event was held at GW's home course, the par-72, 6,874-yard Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, VA. The event was hosted by George Mason University.
Barrack fired an 8-over-par 152 to tie Binghamton's Trevor Fiedler and P. Stoie Donovan for first place in the 29-player field. Barrack's effort helped GW place second in the five-team field. The Colonials were 18 strokes off the pace set by Binghamton which won the event with a team total of 612.
Barrack's second-round 74 turned out to be the lowest round by a Colonial in the tournament and matched two others for the lowest round for the event. GW freshman Martin Liu was the second-lowest Colonial after firing a 155 (76-79), good for 6th place.
The Colonials next compete in the Hoosier Invitational on April 11-12, at the Indiana University Golf Course in Bloomington, IN.
