Golf's Barrack, Liu Sweep A-10 Weekly Honors

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- GW sophomore Brendan Barrack (Toronto, ONT) and freshman Martin Liu (Hong Kong) have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Performer and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for men's golf, the league office announced Monday.
Barrack placed 14th in the 85-player field after Sunday's final round of the adidas Hoosier Invitational men's golf tournament at Bloomington, IN. The sophomore from Toronto fired a three-round 217 that included a pair of one-over-par 72s Saturday. Barrack also carded nine birdies during the tournament. The 54-hole tournament was held at the par 71, 6,813-yard Indiana University Golf Course. It marked his seventh Top-20 finish in 10 events this season and he sports an individual head-to-head record of 606-180 (.771) on the season. Barrack's 74.6 stroke average leads the team.
Liu tied for 44th place in the adidas Hoosier Invitational. Liu carded a three-round 228 that included a second-round 74 Saturday. Liu has a pair of Top-20 finishes in six events this season and his individual head-to-head record is 263-172 (.605) on the season. Liu's 76.7 stroke average is fourth-highest on the team. It marks Liu's second A-10 Rookie award which he also won on Sept. 22.
Barrack's and Liu's efforts helped the Colonials to an 11th-place finish in the 16-team field with a team total 902 (303-301-298), two strokes behind 10th-place Northern Illinois.
The Colonials' next competition will be in the Caves Valley Spring Intercollegiate on April 18-19 at Owings Mills, MD. Yale hosts the 54-hole event which takes place at the par-71, 6,942-yard Caves Valley Golf Club near Baltimore.
